Getting married amidst Covid-19.

Once upon a time, in the year 2020, there was a pandemic . . .
In the land of diverse cultures there was a big fat wedding planned, which eventually had to go on a diet ;)

So there is a lot of stuff to talk about with my grandkids.

Their grandparents were engaged on 02-02-2020 (yes, this was the palindromic date the world had been waiting for more than 900 years since 11/11/1111) and were married at the time when the whole wide planet was plunged in Covid-19. Historic times, eh ? 😉

But anyway the least to say, getting married amidst the pandemic was an experience of a whole new level altogether.

My fiancé and I were one of those many couples who had to postpone their wedding date given the global crisis. Originally planned on the 5th of April, which later manifested on the 28th of June, our wedding didn’t look like how we had envisioned, but yet was inspiring in many ways.

In those times of uncertainty, there was this one thing we were most certain of — to get married. 😊

It was a wedding like no other.

Masks, sanitizers and temperature checks became a mandate.
The concept of “minimalism” was infused naturally.
The ceremony was deeply personal , with few of the close family marking their attendance through a video call.

In retrospect, there are few takeaways I could get from all of this.
Sometimes we contemplate and invest so much on micro minute details when it comes to our wedding preparations whereas things actually do and can happen in a much simpler yet very elegant way. Yes, they can, try !!!😁

Also your plans may not always unfold how you thought of them to be, but adapting is vital and critical.

But given my fondness to custom designing and baking , what I really didn’t let go off were my super cute wedding cakes. 🎂

Here’s the journey . . .

That was it. Adios and live well :)
